2020 Foxcroft Vineyard, Chardonnay
2020 Foxcroft Vineyard, Chardonnay
About The Wine
This Chardonnay comes from the Wismer family's Foxcroft Vineyard in the Twenty Mile Bench region of Niagara. This excellent site was planted in 1996 with clone 96. We have chosen to bottle this wine separately to showcase the unique characteristics of this vineyard.
"95 points. Flinty elegance yet sinewy muscle – much more on the citrus spectrum than Wingfield, with smoky charred grapefruit pith notes, perky acidity, seaspray and well-judged oak" - Tina Gellie, Decanter Magazine
"94 points. It’s slightly more concentrated on the palate with pear, yellow apple, juicy citrus, stony/saline minerality and a freshening, lifted finish that goes on and on. A beautiful thing." - Rick VanSickle, Wines In Niagara
"Quality wine here. Gentle and proper reduction, well integrated; very good length and depth. A bit soft/ripe in the end, but quality wine to be sure, in a more forward and ready to drink idiom. Tasted blind at the NWACs 2023." - John Szabo, MS, Wine Align

About Cloudsley Cellars
Cloudsley is the creation of Adam Lowy. Run out of a converted garage building, but don't let that fool you. The Cloudsley Cellars' wines have resonance and speak to showing terroir in the glass. The Twenty Mile Bench Pinot Noir is a memorable wine that can kick off a deep dive into the world of Niagara Pinot Noirs. A blend of many single vineyards, this is a wine with bright red fruit notes, sour cherries, cranberries and a bit of earthiness, followed by a vibrant palate to match. Simply a delightful production to gift as an entry into an Ontario wine.
